This is not because we love telling you about amazing events that you can't go to, but because we've been trying to address a technical issue. Several motions brought or amended by COPE councillors David Cadman and Ellen Woodsworth have received strong support at the annual meeting of the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) this week.

After yesterday’s positive announcement by the City and the Province that Little Mountain tenants would be able to stay onsite while the 1:1 replacement social housing portion of the development was expedited and built, several questions still remain.
Yesterday, tenants of Little Mountain housing were delivered a letter from BC Housing stating:

Council Update – Arts Motion
This Tuesday, September 8, council resumes after the August recess. We’d like to alert members and supporters to Councillor Woodsworth’s emergency motion which calls on the provincial government to restore the approximately 50% cut to arts and culture investment in the province.
